Top 10 of 2010: The Twelve Days of Christmas

The 12 Days of Christmas I think this version of The Twelve Days of Christmas by Rachel Isadora should get some love from the America Library Association this year. It is that good!
The text of this book is the traditional 12 Days of Christmas song, however, the story is set in Africa. Africa is actually a great backdrop for this song. Imagine 12 drummers drumming. Also, instead of repeating text, on each verse, the book contains a rebus type repetition which makes it beneficial for younger readers.
I've seen a little buzz online around this book receiving a Caldecott. We'll have to wait until January 10th to find out but I think it has potential!
Here are our other Top 10 picks of 2010 (in no particular order).
